For creatives around the world Directory of Illustration annual printed issue is a go-to item that helps them find great talents for their projects. The thing is that DoI is much more than just a book. It’s an extensive marketing program for artists that marriages both analog (print content) and digital worlds (website, social media, e-mail, blog etc.). Story-wise conveying that message was our main goal. In terms of art direction, we’ve decided to pay a tribute to more traditional art activities, especially painting and hand drawing. The challenge – that occurred as an aftermath of that decision – was to depict assets belonging to a digital space through analog allegories.
